Real stories of challenges and triumphs will be shared at the Women in the Workforce breakfast on November 1.

Emcee Keli McDonald said business woman Jacinta Mannion, podiatrist and entrepreneur Penny Crawford, Tambar Springs farmer Penny Haire, music teacher and ARIA nominee Julia Rennick and Kamilaroi woman Allira Futui will share “their leadership journey, how they got into business, where they came from”.

Ms McDonald said both women and men were welcome and she hoped high school students would also take advantage of the opportunity to learn what they can be achieve.

“I think it’s a great networking opportunity. The women are quite inspirational and it will be wonderful to go on their leadership journey with them,” she said.

“It’s a good opportunity to talk to them directly about how they’ve done what they’ve done and it’s good to highlight women in business … and a reflection of that is how great it is to be part of the Gunnedah community.”

Gunnedah Red Cross will do the catering and funds will go towards drought relief.

It is the second year Gunnedah Show Society’s sub-committee Energy, Innovation and Mining Expo (EIMEX) has organised the event.
